MAKE MEMORIES WHILE
STAYING ACTIVE & FIT
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives.
Participating in sports at the Doris Miller Family YMCA or Waco Family YMCA is about building the whole child, from the inside-out, in a safe, nurturing environment.
The benefits are far greater than just physical health: They’ll also build positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork.
YOUTH SPORTS OFFERINGS
Our youth soccer league is the only league in the area that offers a division for 3-year-olds, which gives your child a great advantage to learn soccer skills a year early. Our league teaches children how to kick the ball, pass it, shoot at the goal and, most importantly, how to play on a team.
It's never too early to introduce the next generation to America's pastime. Kids as young as 3 who play T-ball and coach pitch through the YMCA of Central Texas will learn basic skills, such as catching, hitting, base running, and making infield defense plays, while embracing the concepts of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Introduce your kids to the sport that consumes you throughout the winter: football. At Doris Miller Family YMCA & Waco Family YMCA, they'll learn the basics of the game by playing flag football. While they're learning the game, you'll be brimming with pride, knowing they'll now understand your obsession with your favorite team. Plus, they'll be taught intangibles like sportsmanship, teamwork and leadership that will prove invaluable on and off the field.
