Do I have to wear a mask?
Effective June 23rd, 2020, The YMCA of Central Texas will require that all memebers and employees, 10 years of age and older, wear face covering over their nose and mouth when in public places where it is difficult to keep six feet away from other people. Members will need to bring and wear a mask when in common areas of the Y.
Will you be checking temperatures before entering the Y?
Members and staff are required to have their temperature taken upon entry to the Y. This will happen at a Safety Station located outside of the Y.
Members with a temperature of 100.4 will not be allowed to enter for the day.
Member temperatures are confidential and not kept on file by the YMCA.
Are there capacity limits in place?
Yes. Following guidelines from the Governor, we will have reduced capacity at each center. At times of full capacity, you will be asked to wait in a designated area until space is available.
How will physical distancing be enforced?
Signs will be posted throughout the center regarding physical distancing. Floor markers will also be used throughout the center. Equipment has been moved to allow for safe distancing during workouts. We ask that members stay at least six feet away from others when possible. Staff will be counting members in one area and will ask groups to separate if necessary.
What is your cleaning protocol?
Members are asked to use the supplied disinfectant before and after they use the exercise equipment. Staff will be cleaning high touch surface areas every 30 minutes.
